Please review the following requirements with your DJ prior to the event:
Your DJ or band is responsible for providing all audio equipment and microphones for the entire event, including the outdoor ceremony site. The Oaks does not supply any audio equipment or microphones. While The Oaks has a sound system for background music in areas not covered by your DJ or band (such as the foyer and patio), this system is not intended for ceremonies, announcements, or dancing.
We recommend a minimum of two audio setups:
Ceremony setup: A smaller system with microphones for the outdoor ceremony.
Reception setup: A full system for dancing, which takes place in The Oak Room Bar and Lounge.
For dinner music and toasts in the ballroom, your DJ may either:
Bring a third audio setup or relocate the ceremony setup to the ballroom during cocktail hour.
Bands Requirements
Before hiring a band (even if the band is on our preferred vendor list), please discuss your plans with an Oaks Event Coordinator so we can help ensure you receive the best possible experience for your investment.
Bands typically require several hours for load-in and sound check, so we strongly recommend a full-day buyout at The Oaks. This allows the band to complete sound check before guests arrive on the property, ensuring a smooth start to your event.
Most bands charge an additional fee for MC services. We highly recommend adding this service so a professional is available to make announcements, introduce speakers, and help the event flow seamlessly throughout the day.
Please confirm whether the band will be playing during the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and/or after dinner. If the band is not performing during any of these times, ask whether they are able to play pre-recorded music through their speaker system. Please note that The Oaks does not provide any audio equipment or microphones.
Many bands perform in scheduled sets with breaks (for example, three 45-minute sets with 15-minute breaks). Be sure to account for this structure when building your event timeline and allow adequate time for dinner.
If your band requires a green room for breaks, we recommend using the Speakeasy, Game Room.
